We are sad here today in Laos as several prominent ministers and officials of the Lao Government including the Defense Chief, the Deputy MP, the minister of public safety, the secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party’s central committee, the chairman of the propaganda training committee and the mayor of our beloved Vientiane City were killed in an air craft crash in the Northern Province of Xiangkhouang about 311 miles from the capital, Vientiane. I wish the people of Laos, families, relatives and friends who lost members in this unexpected incident my condolences.
