Country Director(8 Years)
Wisdom is uniformly distributed globally, an opportunity is not. Be someone’s opportunity.

Michael is an Electrical Engineer by profession. He is passionate about his career because of the life-changing innovations that one can do with knowledge regarding this field. He is also interested in renewable energy and served as a Renewable Energy Researcher for almost two years at Empower Energy Design. His work focuses on electronics (embedded systems) where he developed his own products and also taught others who were interested most especially children.

Michael currently works as an Electrical Engineer. He graduated from Makerere University with a bachelor’s degree specializing in electronics. Being passionate and knowledgeable about electronics and computer programming, I helped many classmates to come up with successful electronic devices for their final year project and they excelled. I also train/teach electronics and embedded systems to interested people. Currently I teach holiday makers in Kyebando, a slum in Kampala and they are very happy about the skills they are getting.

I have worked as a renewable energy researcher at Empower Energy Design where we developed several renewable energy generating devices. While at Empower Design, I worked closely with other members in Rwanda and USA (University of Notre Dame) and this was a very good opportunity as we shared skills and knowledge and learnt to work on multi-disciplinary projects. I like research and I have been a research assistant for a Ph.D. Student from Rutgers University whose research was about the response of rural population to innovations, mainly improved cookstoves. I have also been a research assistant for a Fulbright Scholar who is doing research about the role of SACCOs in poverty eradication in developing countries.I am interested in doing research in agriculture because it is the backbone of developing countries and it does not require a lot of investment. I am also interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
