Mr. Touleelor Sotoukee
Touleelor holds a Master of Science degree in Geography from Mysore University based in India and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the National University of Laos. He has over 15 years of combined professional experience working as a GIS Specialist at the international development sector in Southeast Asia and has contributed to several academic and thematic publications on smallholder irrigation systems, groundwater resources, socioeconomic analysis, and climate-smart agriculture. Touleelor serves as the GIS Specialist at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
Over the years, Touleelor has developed his professional persona throughout his careers, particularly with International Non-Governmental Organization and the Research for Development Organizations in Lao PDR. He has worked on diversifying field works including biodiversity conservation, water resources management, disaster risk management, irrigation, and socioeconomic development. Additionally, he specializes in Geographical Information System applications for more than 6 years including ArcGIS, Raster GIS, Vector, Python, Idrisi, and Remote Sensing.
His key expertise includes thematic mapping in geographic information systems for development, socioeconomic mapping, land use, and land cover change mapping, spatial analysis, interpretation, spatial metadata creation and preparation, spatial and temporal database management.
